Jochi.live is owned and operated by Jochi Limited (“Jochi”). This privacy policy covers the services accessed using Jochi.live. Jochi is a cloud-based student life management platform for Middle & High schools. The platform provides a collection of relevant personal management tools for students such as a planner, meeting booking feature, club/sports catalog and a study room.
In order for Jochi to work as intended, we get some information from our users. This privacy policy shares what information we collect, how we collect it, why we do and where it goes. Below, you will also find how you can correct this information in case it is inaccurate, access it, and delete it entirely.

Profile Information. When you join Jochi and create a profile we collect information such as your email address, password, student ID number, school and profile photo.
While using Jochi. While using the planner feature, we collect the following: your manually added assignments, the deadline, class, description and priority level. We also collect information when you book meetings with your peers & teachers including the other parties involved, and the time & date. In the clubs tab, we collect information on what clubs you are in, what you have joined and documents your club leader uploads. Finally, in the study feature, we collect information about your study sessions. This includes the subject, time, and post session reflection.
Additional Usage Information. We collect information about how you use Jochi. For example, we may collect information about:
how you interact with our services, such as how many hours per day you use Jochi, and your cumulative use of individual features.
Log Information. We also collect log information when you use our website. That information includes, among other things:
how you’ve used our services, device information, such as your web browser type, language access times, pages viewed, IP address, identifiers associated with cookies or other technologies that may uniquely identify your device or browser.
Information we get from your Administrators
Profile Information. Your administrators share information about you to us - what clubs you lead, and your enrollment status at school.
Information we get from your Learning Management System
Learning Management System Information. Jochi only allows you to interact with other students and teachers from the same school. To do this, we need access to your learning management system account information to verify which school you attend. When you share your student ID number, you are allowing Jochi to access information in your LMS profile, such as your email address, name, classes, and assignments.

How We Use Information
We collect this information so that we provide you with the maximum and appropriate support possible. Collecting this information allows us to give you a better experience in the following ways:

Providing your admin with user insights so they are more informed about their students.

How We Share Information
With other Jochi users. We may share the information below with other Jochi users at your school. Your availability. For teachers, students will be able to access what times you have chosen to be available for meetings. When a student sends a meeting request, teachers have the choice to approve or decline the request. If the request is approved, the meeting will show up on your calendar of choice. For students, your availability will be shown to your peers. As a club leader, any changes you make to club times, club documents/files, and the club description will be updated for all student users at your school.
With service providers. We may share information about you with service providers that help us run our business, like the company that helps us store our data.
With third parties. We may also share your information with third parties in the following ways:
With third parties for legal reasons. We may share information about you if we reasonably believe it’s necessary to:

De-identified data. We may also share aggregated, non-personally identifiable, or de-identified information with third parties.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We store your basic account information—like your name, school, and email—for as long as you have an account with Jochi. If you ever decide that you don’t want us to keep your information, you can request to delete it through this link. When we delete any information, it might still be in our archives. Keep in mind that in some cases we may not delete your information if we’re legally required to store your information or to suspend our deletion practices, or if we receive reports of abuse or other Terms of Service violations. We may also keep certain information in backup for a limited time.
Control over Your Information
We want you to be in control of your information, so we provide you with these choices regarding use of information on our platform:
Email Communications. We may send you newsletters and other emails describing things like new features. When you receive these emails from us, you can “opt out” by following the unsubscribe instructions in the email, or you can just contact us directly. Even if you “opt out”, we may still send you emails about our services, like information about your account.
Changing or Deleting Your Personal Information. You can change some of your information, such as your profile picture, by adjusting your account settings. You can also request to change or delete your personal information by contacting us. We may keep some personal data for legal, security, and business reasons. When we delete any information, it may still be in our archives.
Delete Your Account. You can contact us to request to delete your account. When we delete your account, we may keep some of the information we’ve already collected about you to help us operate and improve Jochi.
Data Security
The security of your personal information is important to us. We take steps to protect the personal information we collect. Remember, security risk exists across all websites and apps, so we can’t guarantee the security of your information.
Children
Jochi is designed for middle & high school students, so we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we find out that we’ve collected a child’s information without parental consent, we’ll delete it. Parents with concerns should contact us.
Revisions to the Privacy Policy
We may sometimes change this Privacy Policy. When we do, we’ll let you know one way or another. Sometimes, we’ll let you know by updating the date at the top of the Privacy Policy. Other times, we may add a statement to our websites’ homepages or send you an in-app notification.
