As we describe below, Schools decide which data Jochi has access to via EdLink, and Schools are responsible for determining whether and how data is ever shared with Jochi through Edlink. This privacy policy applies to our website and to the Jochi platform (our "Service") and describes the steps we take to protect your data.

1. Information We Collect

Jochi, committed to protecting the privacy of users, especially those under 18, solely collects personal information necessary to our service, including user emails, activity logs, and content data from learning management systems. We do not collect sensitive information like gender and location.

2. Data Usage and Storage

We use user data to operate, maintain, and enhance our software. User data is stored securely and is accessible only to authorized personnel. Jochi collaborates with EdLink to securely integrate with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Student Information Systems (SIS), ensuring a user-friendly and secure experience for both setup and ongoing use. EdLink is contractually bound to manage data securely, adhering to all applicable laws.

Data Sharing Control: Data is shared only with explicit permission from the respective school and is strictly used for intended educational purposes, not for advertising or marketing.

Compliance with Privacy Laws: EdLink's adherence to FERPA, COPPA, SOPIPA, CCPA, and GDPR mirrors our commitment to rigorous data protection standards.

Restricted Data Access: Access to school data is limited to authorized school administrators, Edlink developers, and specific Jochi team members when provisioned by school admisntrators, ensuring data confidentiality and integrity.

4. User Rights

Users under the age of 18, are entitled to access, modify, or request the deletion of their personal information. Such requests can be made by contacting our support team directly. Jochi respects and adheres to user communication preferences, offering options to manage email notifications effectively. Parents or legal guardians are authorized to exercise these rights on behalf of their underage children, ensuring their privacy and data protection.

5. COPPA and CCPA Compliance

Jochi is committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will promptly delete it.
